Heidi Dobrott

Heidi Dobrott is one of the most well known and sought after designers to come out of the trendsetting California surf and resort industry. A fifth generation left coast native, she takes constant inspiration from her sophisticated, yet carefree environment. Art that shimmers with a youthful sun-drenched spirit to more edgy and gritty pieces that never lose their playful side.

A graduate of UCLA with a degree in design & graphic arts, Heidi spent several years as an advertising art director and award winning graphic designer before the lure of California’s growing surf business pulled her in... once the salt water and sticky wax permeate your soul, there’s no turning back. She ultimately started a successful resort clothing company and spent the next decade creating fabulous textile prints for the line. During that time she also teamed up with, and launched a women’s clothing division for Honolulu based Kahala Sportswear. Years in the industry led to many opportunities to create more and more art, exposing this contagious look to the world outside of surf, as well as develop works beyond the water.

Today Heidi’s design can be seen on a vast variety of merchandise from paper goods to home furnishings, dinnerware to textiles... with products most recently in Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdales & Target.

Heidi, a recent empty nester lives 25 steps from the Calfornia sand with her waterman husband and eager water dog.
